Trump Says Putin ‘has gone crazy’

(MENAFN) U.S. Leader Donald Trump has sharply criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin in light of Russia's recent missile strikes on Ukraine.

Trump claimed Putin had “gone absolutely crazy for no reason,” despite Ukraine having launched a series of persistent drone offensives on Russian soil over the previous week.

These UAV assaults have been extensive, numbering in the hundreds, and targeted multiple regions inside Russia.

Ukraine dramatically escalated its aerial drone operations last week, with Russian officials reporting that at least 764 unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted between Tuesday and Friday.

Hundreds more were reportedly neutralized over the weekend.

On Tuesday, a helicopter carrying Putin was allegedly caught in the “epicenter” of a large-scale drone assault during his trip to Russia’s Kursk Region.

In retaliation, Russian armed forces carried out a major offensive on Saturday, targeting a Ukrainian facility believed to be involved in manufacturing drones and missiles in the capital city, Kiev.

Additional attacks were reported on Ukrainian military installations the following day, intensifying the already fraught conflict.

Speaking to members of the press on Sunday, Trump described the Russian response as excessive.

He expressed disbelief at the unfolding situation and said he was “surprised” by the intensity of Russia’s actions. “I’m not happy with what Putin’s doing,” Trump remarked.

“We’re in the middle of talking and he’s shooting rockets into Kiev and other cities. I don’t like it at all… We’ll see what I’m going to do.”

Trump also posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, reiterating his concerns.

He stated that he had previously maintained a “very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia” but believes something has fundamentally changed.

He emphasized, “He has gone absolutely CRAZY!” and asserted that “missiles and drones are being shot into cities in Ukraine for no reason whatsoever.”
