South Korea Bans Travel of Former Officials
This move came after both officials were interrogated by law enforcement authorities on Monday in relation to their suspected connection to the deposed President Yoon Suk Yeol’s brief "martial law decree" issued on December 3 of the previous year, as reported by a news agency.
Law enforcement officers also questioned Lee Sang-min, who formerly headed the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, during the same day.
Choi, who additionally assumed the role of acting president between December 2024 and March 2025 after the impeachment of Han Duck-soo, stepped down from his position earlier this month.
His resignation occurred just before lawmakers were set to vote on an impeachment proposal against him.
