Trump backs Virginia sheriff who is found guilty of bribery

(MENAFN) US Leader Donald Trump on Monday made a statement in which he said that an entire and unconditional pardon for ex Virginia sheriff who had been sentenced guilty of bribery.

Trump posted on his Truth Social media app, mentioning the Justice Department which is under the former Biden’s government "Sheriff Scott Jenkins, his wife Patricia, and their family have been dragged through HELL by a Corrupt and Weaponized Biden DOJ.”

Jenkins was found guilty last year’s December, and was sent to prison for a decade in federal prison. Due to him taking more than USD75,000 dollars in bribes; in return for selecting regional businessmen as auxiliary deputy sheriffs (a volunteer position within a sheriff's office that allows citizens to assist law enforcement in different capacities) in his department.

Trump also stated, “this Sheriff is a victim of an overzealous Biden Department of Justice, and doesn’t deserve to spend a single day in jail.” And him saying that Jenkins is a "wonderful" individual.

In addition, he said that "he will NOT be going to jail tomorrow, but instead will have a wonderful and productive life.”
