Trump Blasts Putin for 'Playing with Fire' Amid Moscow Assault

(MENAFN) U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark warning on Tuesday, stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "playing with fire" as Moscow continues its assault on Ukraine.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Putin may be underestimating the consequences of his actions. "If it weren't for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD," he asserted.

Trump emphasized his concern, stating plainly: “He’s playing with fire.”

His warning comes just days after Trump publicly condemned Putin's recent aggression. On Sunday, he criticized the Russian leader following three consecutive nights of aerial attacks on Ukraine, saying Putin had “gone absolutely CRAZY.”

Trump also voiced uncertainty over Putin's recent conduct. “I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him,” he remarked.

Responding to the comments, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov dismissed Trump’s statements, attributing them to an “emotional overload” and minimizing their significance.
