Ukrainian drone hits apartment neighborhood in Moscow
The drone struck the Mirax Park residential complex on Vernadsky Avenue, causing damage to the building’s exterior and breaking windows. Many residents fled to the streets following the explosion.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported no casualties or major damage, adding that three drones were intercepted over the city. Residents also heard loud blasts in several neighborhoods.
Additionally, a kamikaze drone hit the roof of a residential building in Odintsovo, a suburb near Moscow.
The drone strikes come after the May 16 meeting in Istanbul, where Russian and Ukrainian negotiators agreed to conduct a large prisoner swap and exchange detailed ceasefire proposals.
Since then, Kyiv has increased drone attacks deep inside Russia. On Wednesday alone, Russian authorities said at least 12 drones were shot down over Moscow, causing damage to three buildings and an industrial site.
